A 2nd Annual Weekend of HPV Racing In Minnesota
Saturday May 17th 8am - 3pm.........Sunday May 18th 8am - 1pm
Site: All Events to be held at the Dakota County Technical College, Driving Course about 2 miles west of the City of Rosemount on Highway 42, to the south east of the school. Follow signs from the school entrance to the race course. Description: A 1.3 mile totally enclosed course with new roadways and moderate terrain. The short races will be set up as a criterium, and the long races will be set up as a road course with longer straights.

Minnesota HPVa Rally
Saturday May 17th, 1997 8am to 3pm

8 am: Registration / Tech inspection / Practice
8:30 am: “Minnesota Mile” Series Points Event
A flying start 1 mile time trial Max of 1 lap warm up. Each participant may take as many tries as wanted within the allotted time. Racers that have not completed a time have preference.
9:30am: 1 Hour Time Trial
Class segregated ( probably 2 groups)
12:00pm: Chef’s Suprise
Commuter Type Race A variety of stations to complete during the time allotted This race will test the toughest out there!
2:00pm: Road Race
A short course road race Class Segregated (probably 2 groups)
Awards Presentation: to follow last race
Saturday Evening: Dinner Ride approx. start time 5:30pm.
There will be a dinner ride on some of the local trails to a local resturant from Dave K’s house, 4139 Brookside Ave South, St. Louis Park All who wish to come are invited! Bring a light we may be back after dark. Details at registration Saturday!
Twin Cities Scramble

Vehicle Classes
(some numbers may already be assigned)
Super-Modified Class: Vehicles may have any amount of fairing or body. Rider may move body panels to start/stop/enter/exit vehicle. Class will use numbers 1-99.
Modified Class: Vehicles may add aerodynamic aids, but riders must be able to enter/exit/start/stop vehicle unassisted and without moving any body panel or fairing part. Class will use numbers 101-199.
Super-Stock Class: Vehicle design may have either a front or a rear removable fairing but not both, and it may not extend forward or back of an imaginary line drawn through the riders hip and shoulder joints. Class will use numbers 201-299.
Stock Class: NO AERODYNAMIC device of any kind allowed except wheel covers and aero-handlebars. Class will use numbers 301-499.
Junior Class (Stock Class): Vehicles must meet rules of the stock class. Riders must be 15 yrs of age or under as of April 27, 1996. Class will use numbers 501-599.
Women’s Class (Stock Class): Vehicles must meet rules of the stock class. Riders must be female. Class will use numbers 601-699.
Multi-Rider Class (Stock Class): Vehicles must meet rules of the stock class. Vehicle must require 2 or more riders. Class will use numbers 701-799.
Arm-Powered Class (Stock Class): Vehicles must meet rules of the stock class. Rider must power the vehicle solely with their arms. Class will use numbers 801-899.
Rules for Race Participants
Entry Fees: Each Vehicle will pay $20.00 for each day of racing. This entitles the vehicle to a number and number plates if needed and entry into all that day’s races. All races shall be timed and/or scored. You need not be a member of any organization to participate, but must sign a participant waiver and pass technical inspection to race or ride on any race course.
Who Can Race? The MnHPVA sponsored HPV Races are open to all human powered land vehicles (including standard bicycles and tandems). Vehicles with bodies or fairings will be registered in their appropriate class. Female competitors are encouraged to participate in any class but also have the option to race in their own class if so desired. This series is designed to be safe, fun, and to promote good sportsmanship, while enjoying the spirit of competition..
