But What Does It Really Mean to be A Sponsor?

Decades ago when the phrase "Twin Cities" was first penned by Mark Twain in his book Life on The Mississippi, the first wealthy families were also beginning to set a precedent for all companies and corporations doing business in this region. They realized the true value of the people who lived in their community, and supported their businesses. As a result, they began the tradition of giving back, to this same community, through their efforts of volunteerism.
The results are so evident today by the large numbers of businesses and corporations who have " adopted " schools -- and whose employees continue to give some of their free times through non-profit board memberships, tutoring, training others and sharing a little of themselves, that we don't realize these same efforts are the hidden fibers that strengthen the fabric of our social living today.
It is this same kind of respect and value that our sponsors give to the arts. They are the ones who instinctively know that it is the culture of society that outlasts the monuments and achievements of great rulers. This sponsor acknowledges that current efforts to stabilize American culture and heritage through the arts must succeed despite the government's financial cut backs.
