Jim Pellinger & Band Perform At Metrodome
11/17/04
Monday November 8, 2004 I along with Tim Bolduc, Dave Hill, Dennis Landeen, and Matt Leonetti performed at a benefit held at the Metrodome for the family of Mark Hershkowitz. My good friend Mark was the "godfather" of television sports production in the Twin Cities--he was well known in the Twin Cities television community as well as the TV community nationwide. Practically everyone in the Twin Cities freelance TV market owes a debt to Mark. He'll be remembered as a warm, friendly guy with a wicked sense of humor. Mark pass away in the hospital while waiting for a liver transplant. If you are not a donor, please consider being one. In most states saving someone's life is as easy as checking a box on your driver's license.
The benefit for Mark was a huge success, raising $20,000 to help the Hershkowitz family with Mark's medical expenses. It was an honor to be a part of it.

the Twins broadcasts on Fox Sports Net.

"CircleBerts: Beneath The Music" Deemed
"Too Controversial" For Fox
10/3/02
"The CircleBerts: Beneath The Music"
was deemed "to controversial" by Fox executives who screened the program
before it's scheduled airing last week. Written and narrated by Mike
Gelfand, "The CircleBerts: Beneath The Music" traces the career of
the CircleBerts, from their humble beginnings in Jimmy's ma's garage to
their dizzying success.
The story, in which one former member fathers
13 children with 11 different mothers (explaining "there were the triplets"),
and two other former members die in a fire and a cryptosporidium outbreak,
respectively, was judged to be "hysterical" but potentially offensive to
sensitive viewers.
(Editor's note: Too controversial for
Fox??? Hmmm....)
