It is very therapeutic to be able to spend a few hours heating, bending, welding and grinding a project until it takes the shape of what started in your head. Although it is satisfying to complete a piece, the process itself is one of catharsis, a cleansing of the soul via hard, cold metal. The fine, barely perceptable dust that is breathed into the lungs with each inhalation is probably not going to help the endurance, but the "Minnesota Does Denver" CD playing in the background and the peaceful din of the hangar provide an ambient enviornment for creating.
